Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #219: Day at the Beach

This week's Fantabulous Cricut Challenge I'm participating in is "Day at the Beach" which is perfect because it's my little cousin's birthday party today and it's a Hawaiian/Beach theme. The invitations were even adorable little mini plastic bottles with sand, mini seashells and rolled up invitations as the message in a bottle.

So for her card I wanted to tie in her theme using the Life's a Beach cartridge for the Hula girl and surfboard cuts. I tore tan cardstock paper I had to make the look of a sandy background atop the blue and white cardstock used for the sky background.

I used a ballpoint glue pen to add glitter to her hula skirt, lei and hair flowers and to add dimension to her hair. What girl doesn't love glitter?? And lastly, for the surfboard I used my Cuttlebug and Zebra embossing folder from the Animal Print collection to add texture.

I'm very happy with the way this turned out and think it's super cute for a young girl.

Unfortunately, I'm feeling very sick and nauseous today so I won't get to be there to give it to her but my husband is going to swing by her party for a bit and drop it off with her gift because he's wonderful and that way at least one of us can be there.

Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend! Thanks for visiting!

Sincerely, Brit
